- orbit type: circular or elliptic with an -   eccentricity closes to zero
- Inclination: within 50° and 90° (tdb)

- lifetime: 1 year minimum, 3 years goal
- total weight: not higher than 40 kg

- power consumption: 60 W of which 53 W for   bus   and 7 W for payload

- spacecraft antenna: omnidirectional antennas   array
- on-board communication system: redunded
- data processing/data buffering: 10/100 Mbytes   (tbd)
- scientific data downlink: on ground station   demand
- communication transfer rate: 100 kbit (tbc)

GEASAT Overview

Will have to be implemented 3 different functional
modes: normal, reduced and emergency.
In “reduced mode” aren’t available the functions related to subsystem with temporary or permanent active failures
In “emergency mode” the functions are limited only to operative subsystems.
